Term time weekend & weekday classes run for children aged 4 years and over at West Heath School in Sevenoaks. during term time on:

Tuesday & Thursday 4-7pm  

All basic beginner and improver classes have a maximum of 6 children in the group. Teachers accompany the children in the pool.

Parents can watch from the comfort of the spectator area at the side of the pool.

Private 1-1 and 2-1 lessons are available on request.

Beginners - Non-swimmers of varying levels of confidence but not yet swimming unaided.

Improvers - children swimming up to 5m on front and back in basic but recognisable strokes.

Width swimmers - 5-10m swimmers, swimming front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke with recognisable strokes.

Basic length swimmers 10-25m swimmers working to improve their technique in all four strokes.

Medium lengths swimmers 25-50m swimmers working to improve their technique and build on stamina and water skills

Strong lengths swimmers 50m + swimmers, proficient in all four swimming strokes and wanting to further their technique, build stamina & water skills and work towards personal survival skills. All swimmer classes have a maximum of 7 children in the group.

TERM TIME LESSONS

Pre School Classes (without mums in the water) cater for children aged 3-4years until they start school. Classes run during term time on at Carroty Wood pool on:

Monday 9.30-11.30am      Tuesday 9.30am-11.30am           Friday 12.00pm-2.30pm

As the children move into the Pre-School classes from our adult & child lessons, there is still lots of fun to be had, but classes become more structured, teaching the necessary skills ready to become independent swimmers.  Teachers use toys, balls, hoops, floats, woggles and swim fins to aid the children during these lessons. ASA assessment standards are used and badges & certificates are awarded at the end of each term.

All Pre-School classes have a maximum of 6 children in the class. Teachers accompany the classes into the pool.

Parents can watch from the comfort of the spectator area at the side of the pool.

Private 1-1 and 2-1 lessons are available on request.



Adult & Child classes run for babies and toddlers aged 4 months to 3 years during term time at Carroty Wood pool on:

Monday 9.30-11.30am      Tuesday 9.30am-11.30am           Friday 12.00pm-2.30pm

Parent & Child classes cater for children aged 4 months - 3 years and are split into age-groups;          4 months - 1 year, 1-2 years and 2-3 years.

Parents/child carers accompany the children into the water and take part in fun filled lessons with a variety of games, songs and activities. Teachers use colourful toys, balls, hoops, floats, woggles and swim fins to aid the children during these lessons. The focus is on having fun in the water, with children developing confidence and free movement through play and encouragement.

Children work towards the Starfish and ASA water safety programmes for babies and toddlers and progress towards the Duckling scheme when they reach the Pre-School classes at the age of 3 years.

School holiday classes run for children aged 3 years and over during the Feb & May half terms, Easter and Summer Holidays at Carroty Wood pool and Hilden Grange School. Courses run for 5 days -

Monday to Friday 8.30-12.00pm  in 30 minute slots.

Parents can watch from the comfort of the spectator area at the side of the pool.
